Tahini Sweet Rolls

The Tahini sweet roll is just that sweet and rich, high in dietary fiber and nutrients. It makes a great snack or treat that the whole family will enjoy… guaranteed. You can substitute tahini for natural unsalted peanut butter if you like.

Tahini paste is made from crushed sesame seeds and has quite a nutty taste. It is available in jars, cans and also in dehydrated form. Tahini should keep in a sealed jar and kept in the refrigerator for a number of weeks. There are two main types of tahini, hulled and unhulled.

Hulled tahini does not grind the whole sesame seed and because of this it does not contain as much calcium, protein and vitamins as unhulled.

Unhulled tahini is made from the whole sesame seed and it the most nutritionally packed type of tahini. Hulled tahini is not as bitter tasting as the unhulled type. Raw tahini contains more nutrients than roasted tahini.

Tahini is not only a good source of dietary fiber it is also a good source of essential fatty acids (EFA), manganese and copper, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorous, vitamin B1, zinc, vitamin E and protein.

With the added banana, unpasteurized honey and a sprouted wheat wrap this roll will fill up a hungry man, woman or child. Try combining the roll with a small protein shake. It’s a perfect food after a heavy training session or a grueling hike. The sweet roll is a good treat for a small child.

Make sure to have plenty of napkins on hand as this sweet roll is sticky and finger lickin good!!!

Tahini Sweet Rolls

Makes one roll

  • 1 Organic Sprouted Whole Mixed Grain Ezekiel Tortilla (Chapatti)
  • 1/2 Banana- cut into thin slices
  • 1 Tablespoon Tahini or Unsalted Organic Creamy Peanut Butter or Almond Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Unpasteurized Honey

Directions

  • On a cutting board lay out one tortilla, with a flat knife spread a thin layer of tahini over entire tortilla.
  • Add sliced banana to one side of tortilla then lightly drizzle honey over entire tortilla.
  • Start to roll the tortilla on the side that has the banana then add a toothpick to the middle of the rolled tortilla to keep it place.
  • You can add more banana or honey to the roll if desired
